1970 Martin000-28 (Employee Made) – Natural
When we’re talking about great guitars with a good story, this custom Employee-made 1970 Martin 000-28 in Natural definitely fits the bill! This particular guitar was made by the Quality Control Manager at the Martin plant; Al Realto. He definitely took cues from the 60s 000-18E, using a DeArmond Dynasonic pickup that amplifies the already booming tone. The ‘70 catalog lists the 000-28 as their premier concert model, “designed for excellent tone and workmanship,” and you can bet if it’s been built by the head of Quality Control, it certainly exceeds on all fronts!
