1959 GibsonLes Paul Standard – Sunburst
This 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard in its original Sunburst finish is one of our favorites in the shop, and it definitely lives up to and even exceeds the mythos that “Bursts” have garnered over the years! This fully original example has everything you’d want in a Burst; great flame, color, condition, supreme playability, and an incredible sound. The unopened PAFs are very well balanced with each other, with soaring highs, full lows, and a very punch mid-range response. The neck profile fills the hand beautifully, and the original frets have plenty of life left in them. This guitar was very well kept, with light playwear, and minimal fading on the very sensitive aniline-based dye. This particular Burst is even featured in the legendary book “The Beauty of the Burst” as well.
