1962 GibsonEB-6 – Cherry
We can’t get enough of SG-style Gibson basses, and this 1962 EB-6 in its original Cherry finish is no exception! 1961 saw the introduction of the SG body style for this model, and it was also the same year Fender released its “VI,” both being six-string basses tuned an octave below standard guitar tuning. This beautifully preserved example still boasts a vibrant Cherry color throughout and features all original components. It gets even better – as it’s equipped with a PAF in the neck position and a Patent No. pickup in the bridge position, indicating this transitional time in Gibson’s history. The original mute felt has been removed, but a replacement can easily be added.
