1961 GibsonEMS-1235 – Polaris White

Can you get much cooler than this super rare and original 1961 Gibson EMS-1235 in Polaris White?! The “EMS” signifies “Electric Mandolin Spanish” for this style of double neck, but it actually features an octave guitar and one standard guitar layout! This means the smaller neck is tuned as a standard guitar but a full octave higher. Overall, the guitar is so well preserved, with just some light marks and checking here and there. Thankfully, many original guitars finished in Polaris White did not receive a clear coat at the factory to prevent future yellowing, so this one is still very white! One of the double-ring tuner buttons has been replaced, and the standard neck has a later patent no. bridge, but everything else appears to be original on this historic piece!

Overall Condition: 8.5, light playwear and patina, very mild checking
