1967 EpiphoneCasino – Sparkling Burgundy

This 1967 Epiphone Casino, in its original Sparkling Burgundy finish, sounds even better than it looks! This has to be one of the most resonant Casinos we’ve had our hands on, as every note jumps right out with fullness and clarity. As you may notice in the photos, this piece sports a Frequensator tailpiece, which is indeed original to the guitar as there are no extra holes whatsoever. Designed by Epiphone in 1937, the Frequensator was an option through the 1960s and was an attempt to produce a deeper response from the bass strings and a brighter snap of the treble strings. We’ll say it’s undoubtedly working wonders on this guitar! This resonance comes through amped up, thanks to this guitar’s two balanced P-90s. These Epiphones were made with the same level of craftsmanship and quality materials as Gibson used then, but at a much more affordable price!
