1967 VoxConstellation IV – Cherry

This 1967 Vox Constellation IV in Cherry is a bit of an oddball, but there’s nothing quite like the signature style of this teardrop body! It immediately makes us think of the Rolling Stones, as this model is close to the short-lived Vox Wyman model. This Italian-manufactured bass features a semi-hollow design and, quite frankly, one of the largest bass headstocks we have ever had in store. The onboard effects make this model stand out – check out that built-in G Tuner, distortion booster, and treble/bass booster! This is, of course, along with the standard volume/tone controls, 3-way selector switch, and wide-range Ferro-Sonic pickups. Two knobs (distortion and tone 1) are missing their inserts. Additionally, the volume 1 and tone 2 knobs or inserts were switched at some point in its life. The knobs are pretty stuck on, and we do not want to risk damage to the knobs or pots by trying to force them off.

We can tell that this bass took a hit at some point in its life, on the bottom near the strap button. This has caused some superficial finish cracking, binding separation, and a bit of blown-out wood, but no deep cracks through the body. As always, if more detailed pictures are needed, don’t hesitate to contact us directly!
