1963 GretschCountry Club (6196) – Cadillac Green

This 1963 Gretsch Country Club remains incredibly clean in its original Cadillac Green finish! The Country Club was first introduced in 1954, and was available in Sunburst (6192), Natural (6193), or Cadillac Green (6196). This model features quite a few of Gretsch’s signature features, including a Space Control bridge, Melita tailpiece, Neo-Classic fretboard inlays, and Filter’tron pickups. Alongside the pickups, the Country Club features an array of knobs and switches, giving players the utmost control over their sound. The upper bass bout features a pickup selector switch and a master tone switch. The upper treble bout features a master volume knob, and the lower treble bout knobs control the volume of each pickup. Here, you will also find a standby switch and a mute lever. Overall, this guitar remains in stunning condition, with very little finish wear and a small number of cracks in the binding. As many Gretsch fans are aware, binding rot is a common issue with these instruments, although the binding on this model remains stable. The gold plating of the hardware has worn away slightly, though there is only a slight patina overall. This guitar remains entirely original, including its original case and paperwork.
