1961 GretschDouble Anniversary (6118) – Smoke Green
This 1961 Gretsch Double Anniversary in Smoke Green has us in awe with how cool this finish has aged! The anniversary model was launched to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Gretsch Company’s founding in 1883. It was offered with either one pickup or two. This particular “Double Anniversary” offers two HiloTron pickups wired in their “Tone-Switch” circuit, a Space Control bridge, and a Gretsch-branded Bigsby. The entire guitar has taken on a deep, smokey patina, very fitting for Smoke Green! This is especially evident with the humpback inlays. The bottom of this guitar was exposed to moisture at some point in its life, causing some of the finish to flake. Despite this, the guitar is stable and sounds and feels incredible!
Overall Condition: 7.5, finish flaking on the bottom and top by the Bigsby, binding is stable, small drop fills on the back, checking and wear throughout
