1967 GibsonFirebird I – Pelham Blue
What’s cooler than a 1967 Firebird I? Maybe a Pelham Blue 1967 Firebird I! This all-original bird has the coolest vibe, with a perfectly greened-out blue finish that we have come to know and love from this custom color. A quick tidbit about this guitar (if you’ll allow us to nerd out for a second): we can infer a piece of its history from the finish alone. There is a slight drop “shadow” to the left of each knob and piece of hardware, where the finish looks more blue than green. This indicates that the guitar was exposed to sunlight on one side at some point, perhaps while hanging in a shop window. As an example from 1967, this instrument features a three-way selector switch rather than the earlier black sliding switch and the later “butterfly” chrome tuners. This serial number also ends in triple 7s, just in case you’re into lucky numbers! This guitar plays well and is particularly loud and resonant acoustically, something that immediately stood out to us the first time we played it. There is a spot of wear down to the wood on the neck around the 7th fret, which is shown in the photos. This guitar comes with its original case and is ready for its next home!
