1942 GibsonJ-35 – Opaque Blonde
This stunning 1942 Gibson J-35 comes in its original and very rare Opaque Blonde finish! This finish is much more scarce than the Sunburst option, as Gibson started to use this finish in late ’41/early ‘42, just before the model was discontinued in late ‘42. This guitar comes with an article written for the Dec 2008 issue of Vintage Guitar Magazine, which features this guitar and details the “Blonde” finish’s history. The article also notes that only a few were made, and we only know of two. In addition, there are a couple hairline cracks on the top of the body, although they are not spreading and appear stable.
