1956 GretschRancher (6022) – “Golden Red” (ex John Entwistle)
We hope this 1956 Gretsch Rancher (Model 6022) in its original “Golden Red” (orange) finish gives you all the warm, western-loving feelings it gave us! Introduced in 1954, Gretsch’s Rancher is a large-bodied acoustic (think Gibson J-200). A perfect blend of mid-century design and western motifs, this acoustic sings even better than it looks! It showcases a gold lucite pickguard, gold-plated hardware, a horseshoe headstock inlay, hump-block fretboard inlays, and a triangular sound hole. Plus, it sports an adjustable bridge set atop a triangular piece of rosewood. If that wasn’t cool enough, this guitar’s G-branding really catches the eye! This is an all-around great player in great shape for 70+ years old! What’s more? This guitar was owned by John Entwistle of The Who and was photographed alongside his iconic collection of guitars and basses for the book “Bass Culture: The John Entwistle Bass Collection.”
