1955 GretschRound-up (6130) – Knotty Pine
And the award for the most cowboy-style guitar we’ve ever seen goes to…. this beautiful 1955 Gretsch Round-up with a Knotty Pine Top! The details are truly astonishing with this piece. Gretsch really thought of everything: a steer head inlay on the headstock, western images engraved on the fretboard inlays, a leather-tooled belt around the entire perimeter of the body, a belt buckle tailpiece, and a G brand on the forearm. This binding is in excellent condition, free from any binding rot. It’s just the perfect guitar to play those galloping cowboy licks, with a very comfortable neck and overall comfortable weight. These were incredibly limited when built, with low production numbers from 1953 to 1955, and a small batch in 1957. Due to the soft nature of the pine top, a switch ring looks like it has been added to help support the area. This guitar also comes with its original “Cowboy Case” the rarer and more desirable case for the model. It seems very few of these have survived to this day.
