1964 GibsonSG Standard – Cherry

This wonderfully preserved 1964 Gibson SG Standard in Cherry certainly is minty! From 1961-1963, all “SG” guitars sported a “Les Paul” engraved truss rod cover or silkscreen, as Gibson was still in contract with him. After that contract expired in late 1963, by early 1964 the guitar was officially renamed the “SG.” Despite that, this particular 1964 still features “Les Paul” on the cover! It is quite possible that Gibson was using up the rest of their stock! Regardless of the naming, this guitar is truly an incredible piece, with original components except for a changed neck pickup ring. It has a nice medium-depth neck, original frets, and well-balanced humbuckers!
