1955 FenderStratocaster – Sunburst
We’re happy to present this 1955 Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst! As you can immediately see, this guitar was only lightly played, with virtually no neck wear. The body shows some light wear, including edge wear and weather checking throughout. There are also a couple of areas around both strap buttons where the finish has slightly flaked. All of this results in an overall clean look and feel, yet you won’t have to worry about putting the first “ding” on an ultra-mint piece. This example features a beautiful, one-piece, lightweight ash body that provides ample sustain. The three original single-coil pickups are a bit hotter than some of the other examples we’ve seen, resulting in a slightly louder and brighter output. Completed in late 1955, this instrument shows pot dates of the 43rd week of ’55, a neck and body date of “11-55”, and tape in the electronics cavity that reads “Gloria 12/16/55”. Aside from a replaced switch tip, this guitar is fully original. Throw in its original tweed side pocket case and some extra case candy, and you’ve got the total package!
