1965 FenderTelecaster – Blond

If you’re looking for a mid-60s Telecaster, look no further than this Blond example from late 1965! Did we mention this one has the coolest tan lines too?! The minute this guitar came into our store, we immediately noticed its smooth playing neck, light weight, and resonant sound! By late 1965, Fender was well into their transition under CBS ownership. Changes made during this time can be clearly seen on this guitar, including a white pickguard, pearloid dots, and a transition logo. This veneer rosewood board has a beautiful warmth to it, looking exceptional against this original Blond finish. Though Fender began using Alder for their custom colors and Sunburst bodies in 1956, Blond guitars still received Ash bodies in favor of its beautiful grain. Mid-60s Blond finishes tend to look a bit more opaque than their 50s counterparts, though we can assure you the grain on this guitar is definitely visible. Upon authentication, we noticed that this guitar had been modified to modern wiring, though we were able to restore everything to its correct, original vintage spec!
