1960 FenderTelecaster – Lake Placid Blue Metallic (ex Alvino Rey)

Here we have a 1960 Fender Telecaster in its original “Lake Placid Blue Metallic” finish. Fender officially introduced a selection of custom colors in 1961, making this a pre-color chart finish, and a very early example of what would become known as Lake Placid Blue. This Telecaster was personally owned by Alvino Rey, a well-known guitarist, and Fender endorsee. There are many promotional photos of Alvino using Fender’s guitars and pedal steels over the years. The guitar includes a letter from Alvino and a photo of him and his family with his guitars. This Telecaster is fully original and weighs in at 7 lbs 9 oz. The pots date to the 19th week of 1960 and has a neck date of 5-60. It comes with its original brown Tolex case.
