1968 DanelectroElectric Sitar – Brown

This 1968 Danelectro Electric Sitar, in its original Brown finish, is a studio staple. Danelectro’s full-sized electric sitar was initially developed by Vincent Bell and first sold in 1967 under the “Coral” brand. Shortly after, the Danelectro-branded Sitar was released with a more traditional gourd shape and without the 13 sympathetic strings like its older, larger predecessor. Thanks to this “sitarmatic” bridge, this electric sitar offers that iconic “buzzing” sound but in a more compact design. This particular example is in decent shape, with wear throughout the piece. It maintains its original components and is still in great working order. These electric sitars were used extensively in popular music throughout the 1960s, and here’s your chance to grab a vintage instrument with a cool look and feel and an unmistakable sound!
